SANUR

Sanur I would describe as a slightly more lively version of Nusa Dua. The vibe is still families and older holiday makers, but has a more vibrant atmosphere, with some bars offering live bands for entertainment.

Beaches are still white limestone sand at the southern end, but towards the north, starts too change to volcanic dark sand beaches.

Scooter is recommended for getting around, but not essential.

For surfers, best time of year is wet season, that is October to April, as the trade winds blow offshore. Quality waves can be found on the outer reefs, but do need a decent swell to start them pulsing, and a boat is best to get out there. Waves at the north end can be found closer to the beach, and offer a fun selection for those willing to explore a little. For beginner too intermediate riders.
