Seminyak can be found directly north along the coast from Kuta, here the emphasis is more on a cleaner/ sophisticated version of Kuta, with boutique shopping, villa accomodation and famous beach clubs.
Its demographic is more on the 20 and 30 something travellers, who want boutique shopping, and instagram moments by the pool at their villa or the famous beach clubs.
For surfers, you will find waves here during dry season, May through to October, beach breaks of ok quality, depending on swell and tides.
Scooter is not essential, but does open up the area for you to explore more freely.
