Ubud is the creative cultural hub of Bali, being far up in the mountains, towards Mt Batur, its focus is on the creative types, and those looking for yoga retreats.

Famous attractions here include several waterfalls, picturesque rice terraces, temples and the Sacred Monkey Forest.

Scooter is not essential, but if you want to explore the points of interest nearby with ease, it is recommended.

Being up in the mountains of Bali, there is no surfing, however there are many activity options such as canyoning, white water rafting, ATV and mountain biking trails. All very safe with tour guides, and lots of fun!
